Board Chair
Dr. Andreas Miles-Novelo is a media and social psychologist specializing in how external systems shape human behavior. He is a core faculty member in the Media Psychology program at Fielding Graduate University and an associate editor of Psychology of Popular Media.
Andreas’ research focuses on media effects, including how video games, virtual reality, and emerging technologies influence aggression, perception, and social attitudes. He has also examined how large-scale environmental factors, including climate change, shape human behavior. He is particularly interested in applying this work to improve outcomes at both individual and societal levels.
In addition to his research, Andreas has taught across multiple universities and is committed to training the next generation of scholar-practitioners in applied, socially relevant research. He recently co-authored Climate Change and Human Behavior, which explores links between a changing climate and outcomes such as aggression and violence, and was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine.
Andreas holds a PhD and MS in Social Psychology and Human–Computer Interaction from Iowa State University, and a BA in Psychology and English from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
